Parents and carers are always welcomed and encouraged to take part in our work to support our school and pupils. Current vacancies are listed below.
1. Communications subgroup convener
The group aims to improve communication and broaden inclusion of parents and carers both in school and in the Parent Council. It works closely with school. Work of this subgroup includes co-ordinating class reps, producing newsletters, updating our website and projects such as the parent and carer survey.
We are looking for a volunteer to lead the group and further improve our communications.
2. Fruit Group volunteers
Fruit group had been running for about 15 years, where parent volunteers prepare fresh fruit and vegetables that are provided to pupils on Friday morning. Currently there is a group of volunteers to prepare the produce, but new volunteers are sought to join the volunteer team.
Parent/carer volunteers come to the dining hall after drop-off to wash and prepare the fruit. It only takes about an hour – we’re usually finished by 10am. If you have any questions, please contact Marian via firstname.lastname@example.org
If you wish to volunteer to help prepare the fruit any Fridays you’re free, please visit this doodle poll to give your details and times.
3.School streets volunteers
We support the school streets initiative where roads around the school have restricted access at the start and end of the school day to make the street safer for children and families coming to and leaving the school. It is making a huge difference, especially when we have volunteers staffing the entrances to the controlled area.
Volunteers are needed to help give information and advice to drivers. You can read more about the role and volunteer by signing up on this doodle poll (which is also on the school website homepage in the top right).
4. Other volunteer roles
All parent council groups and our school welcome parents getting involved as volunteers. If you are interested in an area of work of our subgroups, please get in touch with the convener.
